The people we connect with can teach us. When we connect with a classmate's ability to do something we can't do, we learn. Students with disabilities are students with abilities too. Look for what your classmates can do, not what they can't do.

  1. Yeah, I see what you mean. I'd like someone to know what I'm capable of before they find out what I'm not so good at. In fact, I try to hide what I'm not good at. Most often kids with disabilities can't hide what they're not good at, especially in school. That must be hard - knowing every day that their classmates are going to get a good look at their disability and maybe turn away before they see that they can play soccer like a star.

    1. i agree. it must be difficult. i think people should treat people and kids with disabilities like people, and realize that they are only human.
